2005
Field School in Water Science, Law & Policy for Decision Makers
The Field School was
held July 7th and 8th,
2005 in Flagstaff.
The objectives of this Field
School were to:
-
Present water-related
information that will be of lasting value to decision makers;
-
Facilitate discussion and
networking in an interactive learning environment;
-
Examine the application
of science, policy, and law, to water issues that presently face
north-central Arizona regional, tribal and local governments.
This Field School was
organized primarily for the benefit of elected municipal and tribal councils
and country supervisors, who are frequently called upon to make decisions
related to water usage and management. However, other interested NGO
(non-governmental organization) and city public works representatives
participated. As part of the Field School, we identified and explored
solutions to water issues, and examined, both in 'work session' and in field
settings, water supply, storm water & flooding, and wastewater issues.
